Concert #2
Meta
Fri June 13 2025 at 6pm | Seascape - Asilomar Conference Grounds
Kaleidoscopic sonorities touch the heart with art and being, mastery revealed. Our 2nd concert, Meta, draws inspiration from the root of the word metamorphosis and is the heart of this year’s Summerfest. The three profound and complex pieces of this program explore multiple mirror-facing-mirror situations and references, one reflecting the artist’s state of mind, and a work inside a work about properties of the piece itself.
The program delivers the most rewarding experience with moments to touch the deepest places in our hearts and memories.
Concert #3
Harvest
Sun June 15 2025 at 5pm | The Barn at Corral Wine Co.
Our final concert, Harvest, brings a festive celebration of the ripening of transformation in nature, in ourselves, our times and in the arts. Adding to the grand premiere of a new work taking inspiration from a newly published book, this year’s Summerfest closes with the glorious string octet by the 16-year-old Mendelssohn who had already written more than 100 works. All the music on this program radiates pure joy for harvest’s abundance, invisibly containing its complexity at creation.
We rejoice in the destination of metamorphosis, but it is in the journey that we are transformed.

Evolution Toward My Perfect Self with Composer Daixuan Ai
Sat June 14 2025 at 5pm | Sunkiss'd Mozart Home in Corral De Tierra
Cindy and Daixuan engage in an intimate conversation and demonstration about the evolution of composer Daixuan’s search for her voice in her music, as well as the responses from her surrounding communities that helped shape her thinking and composing. Having immersed herself in Alka Joshi’s new book, “Six Days in Bombay,” Daixuan has transfigured into music the elements of the story that most connect with her and her growing passion in jazz improvisation. At this event, Daixuan shares the richness of her mind with us, followed by a performance of her Tales From The Folklore of Xiangxi, a taste of her artistry before the grand premiere of her new work for violin and cello at Summerfest 2025’s final concert on June 15th!
