Lone Cypress

The Summerfest's grand opening concert, "Lone Cypress," celebrates our beloved Monterey Peninsula where art and beauty flourish. Set at the Monterey Museum of Art's Work Gallery, surrounded by California’s most prominent contemporary realist painters, is David Ligare's exhibition "Spheres of Influence". The music pairs with many elements of David Ligare's influences and inspirations that grew his admiration for nature into an examination of life through landscape.

Also at the Work Gallery of Monterey Museum of Art, the second concert "Viva!," celebrates the abundance and vigor of life that comes from the duplication of seeds. See instruments literally duplicate, pair up, interact in comradery, symmetry, dueling dialogues--like friends, lovers and competitors. Repertoire includes… one of the MOST beloved pieces in the entire chamber music history.

The final concert "Potpourri" will take our audience to a premier private residence in Monterra. called the Sunset Magazine Idea House. As we revive and modernize this "music in chamber" tradition in a beautiful home of our time, we match it with a program that tells the stories of us today in a unique aspect of the world now— merely a click away at our fingertips, you can access the whole world. See how artists weave together cultural essences beautifully and immerse us in different worlds moment to moment.
The program includes the world premiere of Kian Ravaei's commission written for Sunkiss'd Mozart Summerfest 2024.
